We just got word from our social worker that we will be having our first home study visit THIS SATURDAY! I am excited and nauseous at the same time. This whole process has been such a whirlwind that it’s hard to believe we are at this step already. Having this appointment officially on the calendar makes it all feel so much more real. It is no longer just Travis and I plugging away at the paperwork, doing what we can on our own to move towards this adoption. This week was a big week in the Fischer household. And I know you’re dying to hear all about it {obvi.} so here we go!
The excitement kicked off right away Monday morning when Travis had his first day at his NEW JOB. We have officially started a new chapter! God blessed us with this new opportunity and we are very excited to see how it all works out over the next weeks and months. Change and transition is never without its hiccups and challenges, but so far things have been going pretty well for Travis during his first week at Shift.com. We had a really great weekend, so I thought I would share just a little bit of our fun.
We kicked off our weekend Friday with the arrival of our homestudy paperwork!!! I was so excited to receive it in the mail so quickly after finally choosing and signing on with a local agency earlier in the week. Needless to say, we tore the package open right away, and were immediately overwhelmed by how much was there. Nonetheless, it still felt really good to have physical pieces of the adoption process actually in our hands. We are now legally getting one step closer each paper will fill out and each form we sign. It was again a reality check for us that THIS.IS.IT! Here we go!
